NEPSE rises 40.76 points, with Rs 21.86 billion in daily trade.
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) closed at 2,796.38 points on Monday after rising 40.76 points.
In the first three minutes, the market reached 2,794.25 points, up from 2,755.62 points at opening. By the middle of the trading session, the index was averaging 2,770 points. After one hour of trading, the index reached its peak for the day at 2,806.69 points. The last few minutes before the market closed for the day, it lost about 10 points.
The sensitive index, which gauges how well "A" class businesses are performing, dropped by 0.97 points. From Rs 21.71 billion on Thursday to Rs 21.86 billion today, there was a minor increase in the daily turnover.
Hotels and tourism added the most points to their index, 488.31, out of seven sectors that had gains; five other groups saw three-digit increases as well. Finance had the most loss of 164.71 points out of the six losers.
Of the individual companies, 163 were listed as winners and 78 as losers.
The company with the highest share turnover, Himalayan Reinsurance Limited, brought in Rs 1.26 billion. The eight companies that contributed the highest value, accounting for 10% of their market values, were Ru Ru Jalbidhyut Pariyojana Limited, CEDB Hydropower Development Company, Sagarmatha Jalabidhyut Company, Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower Limited, Bhagawati Hydropower Development Company, Mathillo Mailun Khola Jalvidhyut Limited, Vision Lumbini Urja Company, and Muktinath Krishi Company. According to records, Nepal Finance Ltd. was the biggest loser.
