NEPSE increases by 1.39%, with improvements led by the hotel and tourism sectors
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index increased by 37.13 points or 1.39% on Monday, finishing at 2,690.72 by the close of trading session.
The Sensitive Index, which assesses the performance of class "A" equities, increased by 1.53% in tandem with the benchmark index's growth, and the Float Index, which assesses the performance of actively traded shares, up by 1.41%.
The Hotels and Tourism Index led the advances in sectors performance, rising 3.50%. Other noteworthy performers were the Development Bank sector (up 1.19%) and the Banking sector (up 1.90%). While the Microfinance and Trading sectors saw increases of 1.51% and 1.46%, respectively, the HydroPower Index saw an increase of 1.05%. The gain for the investment sector was 1.46% as well.
On the other hand, a few industries saw decreases; the Manufacturing and Processing Index fell 1.29%, and the Finance Index fell 0.71%. The share value of Eastern Hydropower Limited (EHPL) significantly dropped by 10%.
The day's total turnover was Rs 7.09 billion, with 15,845,449 shares exchanged in 73,119 transactions across 305 scrips. When compared to the Rs 6.13 billion in revenue on Sunday, this is a notable gain.
The overall market capitalization touched Rs 4.27 trillion.
