NEPSE declines by 26 points, with 6.7 billion rupees in daily turnover.
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a decrease of 26.07 points, or 0.99%, as it finished today at 2,597.49 points.
The class 'A' stock performance gauge, the Sensitive Index, also decreased by 0.87%. Moreover, there was a 0.91% decline in the Float Index, which measures the actively traded shares.
With 15.19 million shares traded in 83,081 transactions involving 310 different scrips, the day's total turnover came to Rs 6.77 billion. A total of Rs 7.616 billion in turnover was reported each day.
Of the individual stocks, Wean Nepal Laghu Bitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (WNLB) dropped 10% and Three Star Hydropower Limited (TSHL) gained 10%. In total, the stock prices of 54 firms increased, 186 decreased, and 3 stayed the same.
The Development Bank Index declined by 1.38% and the Banking SubIndex fell by 0.71%, respectively, with the Finance Index being the only sector to exhibit positive movement, rising to 1.75%. The closing percentages for the Hydropower Index was 1.74%, the Hotels and Tourism Index was 1.79%, and the Investment Index was 1.52%. The Manufacturing and Processing Index declined by 1.79%, while the Life Insurance Index fell by 0.40%. Closes for the Non-Life Insurance Index was 1.82%, the Mutual Fund Index was 0.41%, and the Microfinance Index was 1.12%. The Trading Index dropped by 1.18%, while the Others Index had a minor decrease of 0.03%.
The majority of sectors in today's market saw a broad-based loss, with the exception of the Finance Index, which saw increases. The majority of sectors ended the day in negative territory.
