On Sunday, the price of gold reached a record high of Rs 165,000 a tola on the domestic market.
As per the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, the cost per tola went up from Rs 164,400 on Friday to Rs 600 today.
Silver saw an increase in price as well, rising by Rs 95 per tola.
Silver is currently valued at Rs 2,075, down from its Friday trade price of Rs 1,980 per tola.
