On Friday, the price of gold in Nepal hit a new high, getting close to Rs 15,000. The Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association reports that fine gold is currently trading at Rs 149,900 per tola, up Rs 500 from Thursday's price of Rs 149,400.
The price of gold on the domestic market was Rs 149,800 a tola on July 17, which was the last known high. Since then, the cost has been declining; on July 26, it reached a low of Rs 144,700 a tola. But it grew over time, hitting the record-breaking price today.
The price of silver, however, has dropped as of late. Silver is currently trading at Rs 1,795 per tola after falling by Rs 5 from its previous price of Rs 1,800 per tola.
