In a statement released on Thursday, the forum's chairman, Premlal Maharjan, claimed that the abnormally high prices of rice, sugar, and pulses have returned to the Nepali market.
According to him, there have been several excuses for the price increases of sugar (which was Rs 95 per kg to Rs 115), coarse rice (which was Rs 600 per bag), and pulses (which were Rs 90 per kg).
The Committee Chairman, who sent a memorandum opposing the price rise to the Ministers of Industry, Commerce, and Supply, as well as Animal Husbandry and Agricultural Development, has also been alerted by the Consumer Forum.
