Qatar began shipping vegetables grown in Nepal.
The mayor of Dakshinkali, Mohan Basnet, reported that around 2,000 kg of vegetables grown in the Dakshinkali Municipality of Kathmandu were shipped to Qatar as part of the first phase of the agriculture program in Nepal, which was supported by the China Foundation for Rural Development Nepal Office.
He stated, "We have handed over vegetables to the Qatari Ambassador to Nepal Misal Mohammad Ali Al Ansari in a program organized today at the Tribhuvan Airport Customs Office." In a similar vein, Dr. Narahari Prashad Ghimire, Director General of the Agriculture Department, expressed his happiness over Nepal's shipment of veggies to Qatar.
In Dakshinkali, vegetable farming was carried out as part of the China Foundation for Rural Development's agricultural promotion program. It is thought that in addition to helping the country's economic growth and inspiring the farmers, the export of vegetables grown there will benefit the farmers. Farmers who wished to produce vegetables were given the required agricultural supplies and specialized training by the China Foundation for Rural Development.
At the Nepali fresh vegetable export ceremony in Qatar, there are rumors that a significant step has been accomplished toward the agricultural development of Nepal with the financial and technical assistance of China. It is reported that a variety of crops grown by farmers assisted by the China Foundation for Rural Development's agricultural development program are included.
The vegetables that were shipped to Qatar today include bitter gourd, flat beans, akbare (chili pepper), and red cherry pepper.
According to Ansari, the ambassador of Qatar to Nepal, the goods grown by the community's farmers in the Dakshinkali municipality are well-liked in the Qatari market and guarantee freshness and quality. Leading the way in introducing effective rural development techniques from China to the Nepalese population is the China Foundation for Rural Development (CFRD) Nepal office.
In order to improve the quality of life for the Nepali community, CFRD first concentrated on developing the skills of plumbers and electricians through vocational training.
Likewise, in 2023, the program informed us that the foundation aided in the promotion of sustainable development in Tarakeshwar municipality of Kathmandu district by offering specialized training in off-season vegetable growing.
