The effectiveness of internal resource mobilization will increase: Minister of Finance Paudel
In order to accomplish the goal of Nepal's development and prosperity, Bishnu Prasad Paudel, the deputy prime minister and minister of finance, has stated that domestic resource mobilization will be made more effective. Finance Minister Paudel announced during the program that followed the Internal Revenue Department's inspection that the tax system will be further modernized in order to prioritize the development of technology-friendly labor and to lower the cost of taxpayer participation.
He gave the staff orders to enhance voluntary tax participation, stop tax evasion and leakage, improve taxpayer services, broaden the tax base, and establish an atmosphere that is friendly to taxpayers.
According to Finance Minister Poudel, he would also pursue additional institutional reform measures for work specialization, result-based business organization, and process simplification. He will prioritize risk-based tax auditing, electronic governance, and work process simplification.
Declaring that there has been a rise in the big tax offices' arrears and delinquencies, he gave the order to launch a special campaign to collect these amounts.

Ram Prasad Acharya, the director general of the Internal Revenue Department, pledged to meet the revenue collection goal set for the current fiscal year.
The goal for internal revenue collection in the current fiscal year is seven trillion one billion rupees.
