The cooperation committee spoke with Minister Gupta and decided to take action if the necessary information was not provided within five days.

During its Sunday meeting, the Parliamentary Inquiry Special Committee on the theft of cooperative society savings funds met with Ministry officials, including Rajkumar Gupta, Minister of Federal Affairs and General Administration.

According to the details given by committee chairman Surya Thapa, there was a casual discussion over obtaining correct information about cooperatives that are within the purview of local, state, and federal governments.

Discussions were held in the presence of Minister Gupta, Ministry Secretary Bharatmani Subedi, Vice President and Spokesman Purushottam Karki, and Executive Director of the Nepal Municipality Association Kalanidhi Devkota.

"The meeting has decided to give time again to the authorities of 753 local levels and 7 states in the country to provide the previously requested details within 5 days as soon as possible within 5 days, and to give special instructions to the ministers and secretaries to coordinate them at the ministry level," he stated.

He stated that the special investigative committee will have to make the required choices if the information that was received after five days could not be included in the report and if government officials who fail to provide the requested information are legally held accountable.

"Nepal Municipality Association and the National Federation of Rural Villages have also requested the leadership of Nepal to facilitate and coordinate this work," he said.
