Reduction in deposit collecting and little enhancement of credit flow.
The total amount of deposits in the banking system has reached 64 trillion 19 billion, as per the most recent data provided by Nepal Rastra Bank. The Central Bank's statistics indicates that on July 25, deposits totaling that sum were made in the banking system.
The banking sector collected 64 trillion 32 billion rupees on July 24. However, on July 25, there was a 13 billion rupee decrease in deposit collecting. Comparably, commercial banks were collecting 13 billion less in deposits at that time. The commercial banks received 57 trillion 3 billion in deposits on June 24 and 56 trillion 90 billion on June 25.
There has been some progress in bank and financial institution lending since then. Bank and financial institution loans have gone up by three billion. By last Thursday, it appears that 51 trillion 56 billion loans had been dispersed, and on Friday, 51 trillion 59 billion loans had been. Up until last Friday, commercial banks had disbursed loans totaling 45 trillion 65 billion.
According to data from the National Bank, the average CD ratio has also stayed at 78.94 percent. In a similar vein, the Central Bank's statistics indicates that the interbank interest rate has stayed at 3 percent.
