Just in October, damage to the Upper Tamakoshi project resulted in a loss of 85 crore.
Energy, Water coffers and Irrigation Minister Deepak Khadka has audited the upper Tamakoshi hydropower design of Dolakha which has been damaged by cataracts.
Minister Khadka audited the levee side, power house, roads and other corridor of the 456 megawatt capacity Upper Tamakoshi hydroelectric design in Dolakha which was damaged due to the incessant rains on October 11th and 12th.
During the examination, Minister Khadka said that due to the damage to the Upper Tamakoshi hydropower design, the state had to face huge losses in the hydropower sector on a diurnal base and said that it should be repaired and put into operation as soon as possible.
It's said that when the hydropower design was closed, the state suffered a loss of 856 million 47 thousand 930 only in the month of October.
Minister Khadka said that the profitable loss caused by the flood tide and landslide had a direct impact on the state and the people, and he also directed the staff to remove the obstacles caused by the landslide and put the design into operation as soon as possible.
Minister Khadka said," When the design is closed, take into account the energy extremity that may appear in the future, and speed up the construction of the design. The ministry is ready to give the necessary support."
Minister Khadka observed the condition of the design( headworks) levee point, control structure, road leading to the design.
Only four people lost their lives in the design due to landslides on October 11 and 12.
The principal administrative officer( CEO) of the design, Mohan Prasad Gautam, said that they will work to start electricity product within three weeks.
He said that the design is carrying out the junking of monuments, slush and debris piled up in the headworks area.
Also, CEO Gautam said that there was a problem in going to/ coming from the design area when the road was blocked due to the fall of large monuments near Kavrevir on the Dolakha to Lamabagar road section.
