Revenue collection in the first month of the current fiscal year has been observed to be twice as high as government budget expenditures.
The Comptroller General's Office reports that for July of last year, revenue totaled 96.95 billion 71 million and budgetary expenditures totaled 40 billion 207.6 million.
In the first month of the current year, government spending amounts to 2.16 percent of the yearly objective, while income is equivalent to 6.59 percent. The capital side is 8 billion 55 million 48 million, or 2 of the yearly target, and the current side is 12 billion 38 million 22 million, or 1.09 percent of the annual goal, in a single month. That amounts to 43 percent.
Similarly, capital expenditures have accounted for 5.25 percent of the annual target, or 19 billion 276 million rupees. The government has set aside 11 trillion 40 billion 6644 million for current expenses, 3 trillion 52 billion 354 million for capital, and 3 trillion 67 billion 2844 million for the financial system for the current fiscal year.
For the current fiscal year, the government hopes to earn 14 trillion 71 billion 62 billion 95 million rupees in income. The goal is to collect 12 trillion 84 billion 20 million rupees in tax income, 1 trillion 35 billion rupees in non-tax revenue, and 52 billion 32 billion 65 million rupees in foreign subsidies.
The government did not receive any foreign subsidies in the first month of this year. Tax revenue made up 77.41 billion of the total revenue collected in July, while non-tax revenue made up 17.33 billion.
