IFC plans to expand investment in Nepal
The amount that the International Finance Corporation (IFC) invests in Nepal will increase. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel met with IFC's South Asia Regional Director, Imad Fakhouri, at the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday to discuss the organization's plans to increase investment in Nepal.
Last year, the IFC made a $100 million US investment in Nepal.
IFC's priorities include green energy, healthy growth, and economic participation, according to Regional Director Fakhouri, who also stated that he and his team will be instrumental in boosting investment in Nepal.
At that time, Finance Minister Paudel stated that increased investment is required to boost Nepal's economy and asked for increased funding while taking the country's requirements and priorities into consideration.
