Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has expressed concern over the potential instability of the capital market.

Bishnu Prasad Paudel, the finance minister and deputy prime minister, has voiced his worries regarding the financial market's volatility.

During his inspection visit to the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) headquarters in Bhadrakali today, Finance Minister Paudel obtained information on the current state of the capital market and voiced concerns about the volatility observed in the NEPSE index and trading volume.

"I would like to know why this is happening as soon as possible," Finance Minister Paudel said. "Sometime ago, the NEPSE index was above 3000 points and the transaction amount was around Rs. 30 billion. Now, the index is about 2.570 and the transaction amount is reduced to Rs. 5/6 billion." Let's identify a precise solution."

Even though the capital market has improved and political stability has been emphasized since the Vartanaman government was formed, Finance Minister Paudel is curious as to why the market is decreasing once more. "The administration is powerful and steady. Bank financial institutions now provide lower interest rates. However, the market could not continue until it hit the three thousand barrier. "I need to know why this is occurring," he murmured. More reform initiatives should be implemented, according to Finance Minister Paudel, in order to make the capital market dependable, sustainable, and technologically advanced. Additionally, NEPSE was given strict instructions by Finance Minister Poudel to guard against unsightly practices like insider trading on the capital market.

The NEPSE office was inspected by Finance Minister Paudel, Revenue Secretary Dinesh Kumar Ghimire, Chairman of the Nepal Securities Board Mahesh Baral, Head of the Ministry of Finance's Economic Policy Analysis Division Mahesh Acharya, and other individuals. Revenue Secretary Ghimire declared that the ministry is dedicated to reforming the capital market following discussions with the staff regarding the situation of the capital market at the moment, NEPSE's actions, and future improvement measures. As per his statement, the enhancement of NEPSE's internal structure and the management of proficient staff members will be the top priorities.
