99 percent of the population now has access to electricity, according to the Electrification Statistics, 2081, which was created by the authority following a thorough analysis of rural communities and municipal wards across the nation. The number of community members using electricity is 59 lakh 35 thousand.
Of those who have access to electricity, 97% of them use power from the national grid and 2% come from off-grid sources including solar energy and small hydropower.
590 local levels—or 95 to 100 percent—of the 753 local levels have electricity. Up to 75–95% of 72 local levels are now electrified. According to Kulman Ghising, the authority's executive director, the necessary arrangements are being made to carry out the government of Nepal's announcement that every Nepalese home will have dependable, high-quality power service by the end of the current fiscal year.
The electrification status was only 58% in the fiscal year 2072–2073; reaching 98% now is a significant accomplishment during this time. With concessional loans totaling 220 million US dollars from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and the European Investment Bank (EIB), the authority has already begun the process of choosing the builders for electrification in the hilly districts of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Furthermore, the executive director Ghising stated that money has been raised by putting away a percentage of the government's and the authority's income in order to extend access to energy to other places.
Madhesh is the only province with 100% electrification out of seven. In Koshi, 99.30 percent of the area has been electrified; in Bagmati, 99.97 percent; in Gandaki, 99.40 percent; and in Lumbini, 98.49 percent. With only 74.38 percent electrification, Karnali province has the lowest rate. The province of Sudurpaschim has been electrified to a degree of 86.58 percent.
Humla has not yet connected to the national transmission grid, out of 77 districts. Small hydropower, solar energy, and various forms of electricity are supplied to Humla. 56 of the 77 districts have between 95 and 100 percent electrification. According to Manoj Silwal, Deputy Executive Director of the Authority's Distribution and Customer Service Directorate, the efforts underway to provide energy to local levels that are neither fully electrified nor partially electrified are moving along well.
Out of the 14 districts in Koshi province, all but Solukhumbu and Sankhuwasabha have been electrified to a degree of over 95%. 89.04 percent of Solukhumbu and 93.99 percent of Sankhuvasabha have been electrified. Complete electrification of Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, and Dhankuta has been completed. The province of Madhesh has eight fully electrified districts.
Out of the thirteen districts in the Bagmati Province, the fully electrified districts are Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Ramechhap, Nuwakot, and Chitwan. In the remaining districts, over 95% of the area has been electrified.
Manang has 87.81 percent of the province of Gandaki's 11 districts electrified. Tanahun, Syangja, Parbat, and Kaski have all been fully electrified, and the remaining districts have had more than 95% of their areas electrified.

Of the twelve districts in Lumbini province, Rukum East has the least amount of electrification—32.24 percent—while Rolpa has the highest—85 percent. Arghakhanchi, Bardia, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Nawalparasi, and Gulmi are all fully electrified. In the remaining areas, over 95% of the electrification has been completed.
Karnali Province's Rukum West has the highest electricity rate, at 95.08 percent, while Mugu has the lowest, at 31.80 percent. Surkhet has 86.48%, Dailekh 81.05%, Salyan 79.50%, Jajarkot 49.80%, Kalikot 70.96%, Jumla 62.47%, Dolpa 42.75%, and Humla 32.51%.
Kanchanpur and Kailali are the only two of the Sudurpaschim Province's nine districts with 100% electrification. Bajura's electrification rate is only 33.51 percent complete. Dadeldhura has a 94.08% electrified rate, Doti 88.04%, Achham 65.97%, Baitadi 61.73%, Bajhang 69.03%, and Darchula 84.01%.
