Despite the 2.5 million increase in mobile banking customers, less transactions were made.
There has been a rise in the number of mobile banking users in August, the second month of the current fiscal year 2081/82.
Data from Nepal Rastra Bank shows that in August, there were 252,712 mobile banking users, up 234,957 over the previous month. There were 201,691,474 users of mobile banking in August of the prior year.
The number of people using wallets has increased in tandem with the number of people using mobile banking. In August, there were 6,825 more wallet users than there were in July. In August, there were 242 million 64 thousand 481 wallet users, compared to 2 million 42 million 57 thousand 656 users in July.
In a similar vein, there were 23,990 more people using online banking in August. Currently, the nation has 19 lakh 86 thousand 817 users of internet banking.
Transactions decreased in August despite an increase in the number of people using mobile banking. In August, payments of 3.64 billion 27 million rupees were made via mobile banking. 3.77 billion 6 crore rupees worth of payments were made via mobile banking earlier in July.
