August 24 was the day the insurance firms were supposed to petition the Supreme Court for money related to Corona insurance.
Insurance firms have petitioned the Supreme Court with a writ, requesting that the government provide them with the full amount of Corona insurance. The Supreme Court received a plea on Sunday from the Nepal Insurance Association, which is the governing body of non-life insurance providers.
The association's president, Chunki Chhetri, stated that the money was required since the government was unable to return the funds to the insured in accordance with Corona insurance regulations.
The government, the insurance association, and the insurance authority have an agreement that states that the association has obtained an interim order stating that the government has not paid the amount of insurance for Corona. Monday at 10 a.m. has been set aside for the writ petition hearing.
Approximately 11 billion rupees are owed by over 100,000 insured individuals because the government failed to make payments.
