Starting on October 13, Sukila notes can be exchanged for Dashain. According to the Rastra Bank, notes can be exchanged starting on October 13 at the central office of Nepal Rastra Bank, as well as at provincial offices and other banks.
The Rashtra Bank Assistant Spokesperson, Dilliram Pokheral, announced that plans are in place to swap dry notes on Dashain rather than fresh ones. It is planned that Sukila notes will be exchangeable through banks and the Rashtra Bank starting on October 13.
The maximum amount of 18,500 rupees would be given to those who exchange Sukila notes. At predetermined rates of 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 rupees, they will be able to convert 18,500 rupees.
Every year, Nepal Rastra Bank releases new notes specifically for the celebration. Notes that have been used once are exchangeable this year. Even though it has only been used once, according to Rashtra Bank Assistant Spokesperson Pokheral, it is spotless and appears to be brand new.
The central bank has said that it will not be issuing new notes this time around, citing the fact that fresh notes are released into circulation each year and that there is an issue with their management when they are sent into circulation unseen.
